Poetry By Chuck

Author Notes:  This is a take on the old western song of "Rawhide".

I composed the words while on a 2800 mile round trip

in 6 days from L.A. to Spokane, WA.

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'.
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Riding by!

Keep those wheels rollin'.
Through Rain and Wind and Weather,
wearing levi and leather,
keep those tires rollin', right on by!

Keep movin', movin', movin',
Though some are disapprovin',
Keep them wheels movin' Right on By!

Don't try to understand 'em,
Just toss a leg and get on pass em,
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
Boy my heart's calculatin'
My true love will be waitin',
be waiting at the end of my ride.

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'.
Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'.
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Open Sky!

No matter what the weather,
That will stop me never.
Life just can't get any better,
when its just my gal (What a gal!) and I
Riding By!

There's many that will try,
to pass my GoldWing by,
Just me, my cupholder, and I.
I smoke all those that try!

Fly by!

I smoke all those..... that EVEN try!

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'.
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Keep those wheels rollin'.
Riding By!

Move 'it on, Streighten'it up,
Head 'it up, move 'it out,
Move 'it on, Streighten'it up,
Fly by!
Let 'it out, slide 'it in
Ride 'it in, steer 'it out,
Cut 'it out, ride 'it in
Scrape Hide!!!

Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Though the streams are swollen
Keep them tire rollin' On by!
Rain and wind and weather
Hell-bent wearing leather
Wishin' my gal was by my side.
All the things I'm missin',
Good vittles, love, and kissin',
Are waiting at the end of my ride

My hearts calculatin'
My true love will be waitin',
Be waitin' at the end of my ride.

Fly by!
Scrape hide!

Composed while riding those many miles.  Picture was taken in Sacramento on the 15th of Sept 05.

(Ps: This is a take off of the famous western song "Rawhide"!   Probably the most recognized theme song of all time!  If you would like to hear the original version of this song click this link and download "rawhide")

A good take on a memorable theme song (even a Brit like me remembered it from your teaser quote).
I remember writing whilst driving and the constant stops to write it down a couple of verses at a time (too many CRAFT moments). There is something in watching the scenery roll past that is stimulating.
Thanks for sharing this.
